The harbour „Vathy“ is the main- and ferryport of the island Ithaki. There are many opportunities for accomodation, for example supermarkets, a post office, a coastguard base, taverns, bars, a convenience store.....

The island has a special shape. It is split into two parts, one in the north, and one in the south. They´re connected through a narrow isthmus, whose slimmest spot has width of 650m. The harbour has a direct freeway access to Patras.
